"Planned Parenthood"

The charitable international fund – Planned Parenthood – was formed in 2005 by ideologists and founders Oksana Naumych and Irina Puziy.
Oksana Naumych – renowned psychotherapist, head of the Association of Planned Parenthood and director of the scientific centre 'Eylitia'.
Irina Puziy – psychologist and mother of three children.

Aims and objectives of the fund -
• increased awareness of the culture of parenthood in Ukraine;
• organising an annual national festival ‘Planned Parenthood’;
• charitable activities – psychological and material aid to mothers aged 12-18 years;
• formation of a formative culture for family and society in Ukraine, psychological preparation of women for pregnancy and family life;
• prevention of abortions and early motherhood;
• carrying out fact finding and training seminars for accoucheur – gynecologists and pediatric doctors on pre and after birth psychology;
• exchange of experience between leading experts from Ukraine and other countries;
• formation of good relations and a natural approach to the ‘mother-child’ dialogue, raising the level of breast feeding.

Projects:
2005 – information and educational programme for pregnant women in Kyiv ‘the Miracle of Life’.
14 May 2005 -event ‘Healthy pregnancy – Healthy nation’, Kiev.
At this event participants were able to receive interesting and helpful information concerning questions of family planning, preparation for family life and to participate in master classes.
2005-2006 – project ‘Young Mothers’ for girls who had not reached maturity. The purpose was to support young mothers, giving an opportunity to collect not only items and toys but also to provide spiritual support to mothers experiencing indifference from others.
2006 - charitable support to Kyiv’s regional hospital and the purchase of incubation equipment for newly born babies.
2006 - charitable support to large families and material aid to Vorzel Village Children’s Home.
11 to 27 December 2006 – the first national festival ‘Planned Parenthood and National Revival’ (Kyiv, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankivsk and Simferopol) which included two parallel processes.
In the first stage an international conference in Kyiv was staged on 11-14 December supported by the main accoucheur – gynecologist MO3 of Ukraine, V.V. Kaminsky. Experts participated in areas of child development, accoucheur – gynecologists, pediatric doctors, teachers and psychologists. The conference was devoted to the consideration of questions of overcoming the demographic crisis. Guests of honour included Michel Oden, David Chamberlain and Galina Grigorevna Filippova. Awards for the ‘Special contribution of planned parenthood in Ukraine’ were also given.
The second stage of the festival was devoted to a number of information – entertainment events: round table conferences for experts in the regions, photographic exhibitions, drawings and the presentation of services by leading clinics and brands, competitions and so on.

Currently the fund continues to increase the culture of parenthood in Ukraine. As in any business difficulties have to be overcome and if we have achieved something then we are already on the way to achieving some degree of success.
